I didn't realize any animal species (besides our own) exhibited a tendency for one or the other. I figured quadrapeds would show equal footing, since they need all four paws for locomotion. But I could see how animals like a bear or squirrel would tend to use a dominant paw for scooping fish, picking up nuts, or swatting others.
