It is estimated that one in two hundred modern Mongol men can trace their genetic heritage back to Ghengis Khan. Now that is what I call putting it about a bit.
That doesn't sound that prolific to me. Consider how many generations there've been since then... Think about having 4 kids (which sounds like a reasonable number for ye anciente times), each of them having 4 kids and so on... 200 sounds pretty conservative, actually!
